A decade ago, the three major Spanish airlines of that time - Iberia, Air Europa and Spanair - were each integrated into one of the three major alliances in the world such as Oneworld (the IAG airline), SkyTeam (Air Europa) and Star Alliance (Spanair), so that in the future Spain-based aviation will have a single great global alliance with Oneworld.
The IAG air holding, owner of British Airways, Iberia, Vueling and Aer Lingus, announced on Monday an agreement to buy the Spanish airline Air Europa for 1,000 million euros (about 1,120 million dollars).
